Where are they now?

Many Old Virgilians ask about the whereabouts of some of their former teachers.

Below is a list of noted Brothers who taught at the College and what they are doing today.

Deputy Congregational Leader in Rome.

Br Michael Godfrey

SVC 1966-72
Formation facilitator, Africa.

Br Bill Wilding

SVC 1971-75
is General Manager of the Edmund Rice Foundation Australia which supports the Christian Brothers work in developing nations such as PNG, Philippines, Timor Leste and East Africa, and is also a member of the Councils of several Catholic Colleges in Tasmania which have historical links to the Christian Brothers.

Br Russell Peters

SVC 1961, 1991-95
is community leader of the Brothers’ Balozi Community (Nairobi). He is the Chair of the Advisory Board of Mary Rice Day Care Centre and also on the Board of the Women or Women Project. Until October 2015 he was the Immersion Coordinator for East Africa.



Our most decorated Football Star?

Cameron Thurley (SVC 1994-1997)

Cameron has kindly loaned his set of football medals to the College to have displayed in the Centenary History Centre-a Darrel Baldock Medal, an Alistair Lynch Medal, 2  statewide Premiership medals, and 2 Clarence B&F Medals.
