Stay ChatTY ambassador Ben Hirst (SVC 2001-2004) is well known for coming up with some crazy ways to shine a light on mental health and does so to benefit all Tasmanians through increasing awareness of this significant health issue. In 2016 Ben ran from Burnie to Hobart in three days and raised over $10,000 for his charity. From February 9 to 11 Ben ran non-stop for 48 hours on a treadmill covering an amazing 272.3 kilometres at a rate of 10.34 minutes per kilometre. During this time he had just one powernap (20minutes) and about half a dozen toilet breaks!
Ben set out to raise $20,000 for the Stay ChatTY and at the time of writing about $8,500 has been raised. Congratulations to Ben on his outstanding contributions to such a worthwhile cause.
