Garth passed away peacefully on July 16, 2017. Loved only son of Oscar and Lucy Norman. Loving husband of Kathleen (dec).Loving father of Gail and Martin Norman. From the 1984 St Virgil’s Yearbook Mr Garth Norman has been a dedicated member of the Science faculty at St Virgil’s College for the past ten years – specialising in Biology. He was a quiet and efficient teacher and his gentlemanly manner made a lasting impression on all who knew him.He took a keen interest in outdoor activities – sailing, bushwalking and rugby, and he readily shared his knowledge and enthusiasm for these sports with kindred spirits among the faculty and student body.His kindly and sympathetic presence will be sadly missed in the staff room and in his favourite haunt in the H.S.C. block among his biological specimens. We trust he will enjoy many happy hours in his retirement in his favourite leisure activities – not least of which, we hope, will be periods of joyful, nostalgic reverie of the last decade which he spent as a valued member of the St Virgil’s Community.
