The College community extends its sympathies to the Cassidy family on the passing of Neil, aged 66. Neil arrived in Hobart in 1987 on a two-year appointment to set up Tasplan and became its first CEO. The two years extended to 24 years and he stepped down when Quadrant Super merged with Tasplan. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Lynne, and his two boys and their families. Both boys attended the College, Brett (SVC 1993-96) and Glenn (SVC 1996-99). During his sons’ time at St Virgil’s Neil was very generous in his support of the sporting programme. He coached cricket team in 1993 and coached a football team for four years, 1996-99. A great person to have around young men. (Picture taken from the 1999 yearbook showing Neil with the Grade 10 team)
